General Rental Information
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving licence.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up!

Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
Changing booking

A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of SEK 187.00. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be paid back subject to a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.

Age Restrictions
Minimum age in Sweden is 19 years.
Driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.
Minimum age and possession of a valid driving licence in Sweden is:
19 years/1 year for vehicle groups EBMR, ECMR, EDMR, CCMR, CDMR, CWMR, IDMR, IXNR.
24 years/2 years for all other vehicle groups.

Conditions of Payment
Flexi Tariff

We accept all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard and Visa.
Sixt also accepts AirPlus as payment.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron and Maestro Card).
Cash Payment is not accepted.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
To hire one of the following vehicles, customers must present two credit cards: SDMR, SDML, SFAR, FDMR, FXBR, PDMR, IVMR, SVAR, FWMR, PWMR, FVAR, PXBR, PXNR and special cars.

Prepaid Tariff
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card, Diners Card.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron and Maestro Card).
The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of the rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus Value Added Tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.

Generally
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle (amount of the rental cost and the excess applicable; different amounts are possible).

General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)

Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of SEK 300,000,000.- for personal injuries and material damages.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Loss Damage Waiver (CTI)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.
The cost of CTI is as follows: see table
If CTI is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for SEK 15,000.-.
If LDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following countries:
Denmark, Finland, Norway.
A written permission issued by the Sixt branch is mandatory to cross the border.
In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all insurances lose their validity.

Foreign Use Charge
A foreign use charge of SEK 1,250.- applies for each month or part thereof.
The charge does not apply for Finland, Denmark and Norway.

Stockholm Congestion Charge
A Stockholm Congestion Charge of SEK 15.00 per day applies for vehicles entering or moving within the Zone.

Premium Location Fee
A Premium location fee of SEK 200.00 occurs for rentals at airport and train stations per month.

Road fund licence
A road fund licence of SEK 20.00 per day occurs.

During the period of December 1st until March 31st winter tyres are mandatory in Sweden and will be charged.

Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise a charge of SEK 19.38 per litre of petrol or diesel and SEK 15.50 per litre ethanol will apply.

Other Fees and Taxes
Lost Of Key
A Lost Of Key Fee of SEK 5,000.- applies.

Administration Fee For Fine
If the renter has a traffic/parking fine during the rental the renter will be charged an Administration Fee of SEK 300.- together with the first settlement-proposition.
The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occuring during the rental.

Vehicle Cleaning
In case the car require a special cleaning procedure (i.e. smell removal) after returning, a charge of SEK 3,000.- will apply.
All Swedish Sixt cars are non-smoking cars. If a car needs additional cleaning/smell-removal caused by smoking, a fee of 3,000 SEK will be added to the invoice.

VAT
25%
All rates are inclusive of VAT (if VAT incurs).

For corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
